GastroPan awards the Products of Year 2018

The 10th edition of GastroPan exhibition will be held from 19 to 22 April in the city of Târgu Mureş, Romania. Beyond the technologies presented by exhibitors from Romania and abroad, visitors will be attracted by the GastroPan Competitions, in which the best chefs, bakers and pastry chefs will compete to win the trophies for the best products. GastroPan Competitions are divided into 9 categories and 3 sections (BAKERY, CONFECTIONERY and GASTRONOMY) and will bring innovative products on the market, boosting the sector's competitiveness and promoting bakery, confectionery and catering businesses.

 

 

The Bread of Year 2018 and Cake of Year 2018 Trophies will be the most prestigious awards this year too. On the occasion of the anniversary edition, participants of GastroPan Competitions will have the possibility to win not only trophies, diplomas and medals offered by the organizers but also possibilities to improve their professional skills by participating at training courses. In addition to valuable prizes offered to participants of the competitions, all participants will have the chance to win, through raffles, substantial discounts or even free intensive training courses held by the most talented mentors from Romania and abroad. Also this year, the Competition Zone will be arranged in a separate, spacious and modern hall.

SECTIONS AND CATEGORIES OF GASTROPAN COMPETITIONS

The first day of the exhibition, April 19, will be dedicated to CONFECTIONERY competitions. To win the Cake of Year 2018 award, competitors will be challenged to create an original, creative and tasty chocolate cake. Pastry chefs and cake-decorators with an artistic spirit will compete in the Sugar Paste Artistic Piece (the theme "Romania seen through traditions") and Chocolate Artistic Piece categories (the theme "Traditions").

The 20th of April 2018 will be dedicated to the BAKERY section.  Both artisan and industrial bakeries will have the opportunity to win the trophy of the Bread of the Year 2018, as this prize is yet again divided into two different categories, according to the quantity of bread produced daily and the method of bread production – artisan or industrial. Within the same competition section contestants will enter the competition for winning prizes for the best pastry product supporting a healthy lifestyle, as well as for the most amazing artistic pieces made of bread dough (the theme "Great Union Day of Romania").

Saturday, April 21, will be the day of the GASTRONOMY competition categories. The chefs can compete individually or in teams and have the task of preparing a festive dish, a traditional Romanian dish and a dessert meant to be served in a restaurant. Contestants having a more developed artistic spirit can show their talents in the Fruit and Vegetable Carving category, at which they will have to present an artistic piece fitting into the topic of "Time".

The organizers have designed the sponsorship packages available for GastroPan 2018 Competitions and companies from around the globe can access them in their quest of making their products and brands known to the Romanian experts. Potential sponsors can choose one of the four sponsorship packages: DIAMOND, GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE – and, in return, benefit from multiple advantages such as excellent promotion among contestants, jury, visitors, contact databases and many other services included in these sponsorship packages.
